Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie ...

I made a tiny pig! I've named him Petrie. This is the second time I've attempted making a miniature amigurumi and I think it turned out pretty well. I used one strand of a 6-strand embroidery floss and a 0.6mm hook. He is 1.5cm long (0.6in).

When I was trying to figure out how to do Petrie's eyes, I ran across this amazing shop on Etsy. It's called SuAmi and I can't believe the detail they achieve in their miniature creatures. If I had to pick a favourite, I would choose the swan in the picture below but really all of them are phenomenal. Check out their store and have a look at the red panda and the snails. The snails are practically microscopic!

I'm going to work on this more in the future. I only stabbed myself twice with my hook this time so I think I must be getting better ;) What do you think? A penguin next?

Have a wonderfully creative weekend, everybody!

  7. That's insane! I have enough trouble hooking up a 'regular size' amigurumi; how do you even do that! Truly amazing work. Hats off to you :)
